ok so here's another new quest for all you quest fans out there!
throughout the forums there has been talk of a new summon..the phoenix! and now you have got you wish! with the new quest "in pyre need" for this new quest you will need the following levels 55 fm, 53 fletch and 52 crafting, it's a hugely simple quest just go round and collect a branch off a tree in each cavern, you dont need any equipment to bring you get it all from the person you start the quest from. To start this quest simply go south west of the fishing colony and there will be a blackened cavern simply talk to the person outside of it and wahay! your away!
warning! do not read any further if you do not want to know the rewards!!
the rewards are...
- 1 Quest Points- 14,400 Firemaking XP, 12,500 Fletching XP, 11,556 Crafting XP.- 5 Phoenix quills- Access to the Phoenix Lair once per day
1 quest point- 14,400 firemaking exp, 12,500 fletching exp, 11556 craftin exp.- 5 phoenix quills that can be either sold or made into a phoenix (requires 72 summoning) and access to the pheonix lair once per day to challange her to a battle to optain another 5 quills and also beware this is a dangerous mini game the npc's you encounter in the cavern will attack you and they are of high levels and the phoenix is over lvl 200, so you will need good things with you and maybe your very own familair can aid you in the battle!

logout time increased

With this update we officially launch the RuneScape Upgrade Year! Today, we are bringing you three changes to different parts of the game.
Firstly, the logout timer has been increased from ninety seconds to five minutes. This means that you will not be automatically logged out before this amount of time has passed – particularly useful when you want to check the forums or the Game Guide while training combat or chopping down trees. The only exception to this is if you lose connection; if this happens, you will be automatically logged out after 30 seconds as usual (or after 60 seconds if you lose connection during combat). Make sure you stay on the watch for random events, and for other players who want to talk to you.
Secondly, we have had a look at the way the chat filter works. We have removed a number of words from the filter lists, which should make it easier for you to communicate in game. There is still a lot of work to be done, but rest assured that we will continue to work on this project over the course of the year. Please remember to be polite when communicating with other players: we are still on the look-out for people who don’t play by the rules.
Thirdly, we have introduced an alternative location for the Varrock teleport for players who would prefer to land near the Grand Exchange. If you have completed all the easy tasks in the Varrock Achievement Diary, you will now have the option of teleporting to the south entrance of the Grand Exchange. All you have to do to change your teleport location is talk to Rat Burgiss (if you’ve completed the easy tasks), Reldo (if you’ve completed the medium tasks) or Vannaka (if you’ve completed the difficult tasks). This will also affect your teleport tablets, as well as the portals and scrying pools in your house. You can of course change your teleport location back to the original spot in the market square at any time.
We would like to thank everyone who posted their ideas for further upgrades on the forums. As we have said before, we have a lot of ideas, but don't assume that we already have YOUR idea on the to-do list. Make sure you post on the forums – we have been reading eagerly what you have to say.

In other news...
You will now be able to get the phoenix eggling event after completing In Pyre Need even if you do not have the level 72 in Summoning required to tame the pet. If you do not meet the level requirement you will try to hatch the egg in the normal way, but will find yourself unable to and will take it away with you. Once you have achieved level 72 Summoning, you can hatch the egg and obtain the pet you 'choose' during the event.
A change has been made to allow dragon daggers, and their poisoned versions, to be converted to coins via CoinShare.
The Stealing Creation reward axes and pickaxes now have the correct wield requirements (40 instead of 41); they have also had their combat stats lowered slightly to bring them in line with other, similar items.
In response to recent player feedback, from our next game update we will be increasing the system update timer to ten minutes for most updates. Between ten and three minutes before the update process begins you will still be able to login, but when the update is less than three minutes away you will not be able to login until the update is complete

Happy Halloween!
It's here! the 2008 halloween event!
For all of you people who love to do quests then you'll love this event!
Maggie has come to Runescape and needs your help, she needs you to collect here some sweets to satisfye her sweet tooth! To start off all you need to do is look into her couldren then you will have learnt the trick emote! now to get trick or treating! go to rimmington, draynor and port sarim and right click on some of the people to trick or treat them if you have a good costume they may just give the the treat but if they don't like it then you have to trick them! once you have got all of the sweets return to maggie and you will recieve either a witches costume if your a girl or a warlock costume for all the boys!
Now onto swept away! maggie has got a nice brew going on but to finish it off it needs a stir with a enchanted broom, but unfortunatly maggie's broom isnt enchanted so it's up to you to get it enchanted. go find all of the witches. One is in rimmington, another in port sarim in the runes shop, and the final once is the dye maker in draynor, but if the witches do something for you they want something in return! each witch has a task for you witch unfortunatly requires abit of thinking :( once you have got the broom enchanted by all 3 witches return to maggie stir her brew and have 10 tastes each time you take a taste you can get a certain amount of exp in any chosen skill!

P v P IS BACK!!!
In a update jagex is going to put some worlds in were you can kill other players but this is different this time instead of going to the wilderness you can fight each other all over the entire map! so now you can control certain parts of runescape in clans or solo!

runescrafters guild, and the new mini game!
This week jagex had released a new guild; the runecrafters guild! this amazing guild aslo comes with a braned new mini game for all you runecrafters out there, to play this new mini game you will have to be able to enter the runecrafting guild that is located in the 2nd floor in the wizards tower you must step through the portal but to go through and enter you must have 50+ runecraft. This mini game like all others comes with new rewards this one you can have a hole new outfit that comes in 3 different colours; blue, yellow and green each part you must have a certain amount of tokens rewards during the game and also a runecrafting staff.
